Better Intranet for a Better Education

Imagine a project that not only enhances IT support and web development but also revolutionizes career management for civil servants. Welcome to my journey as a Full Stack Developer with the Ministère chargé de l'Éducation nationale, where I spent 1 year and 8 months from November 2015 to June 2017 in the Région de Paris, France. During this apprenticeship, I was part of an on-site team committed to strengthening IT infrastructures and user support. My role involved developing front-end and back-end solutions, creating web services, and implementing an SFTP server. One of our standout achievements was the successful implementation of new features that aided semi-automated decision-making in tracking civil servant careers.

THE CHALLENGE

The Challenge

How do you improve a system that's already functioning? Our challenge was twofold: enhance existing IT support and develop new initiatives to streamline career management. The first hurdle was user support. We needed to provide efficient Level 1 assistance while ensuring prompt and user-friendly resolutions. The second challenge lay in web app development. We had to create applications that were not only functional but also engaging for users. On top of these, we faced the task of designing and managing a relational MySQL database. This required us to ensure data integrity and accessibility at all times. Additionally, we had to maintain the organization's technical backbone by installing and maintaining computer components.

HOW WE FIX ISSUEs

The Solution

We did just that by developing comprehensive solutions: User Support: We provided efficient Level 1 assistance, ensuring quick resolutions. Web App Development: Using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, we created engaging web applications. Database Design & Management: We spearheaded MySQL database architecture, ensuring data integrity. IT Maintenance: We conducted installation and maintenance of computer components. Our efforts led to a robust IT infrastructure that significantly improved user experience and operational efficiency.
